  • Rohatsu 3-day Sesshin at Brooklyn Zen Center

    Published November 23rd, 2009

SittersFrom December 4th through 6th, Brooklyn Zen Center will be having a 3-day Rohatsu sit to celebrate Buddha’s enlightenment and our own awakened nature. The sit will start on that Friday at 6:40 am and end on noon on Sunday. Please click here to email for a full schedule.

This will be a little less formal than a typical sesshin in that meals will not be served (except for breakfast on Sunday) and there will not be any reservations required or seating charts. Still, it would be helpful if you could let the ino know if and when you would like to attend so we can get a general idea of numbers, especially for breakfast on Sunday. Feel free to either email the ino by clicking here or sign up on the list that has been posted at the zendo.

These extended sittings are a wonderful opportunity to deepen one’s practice and sit a little longer than you normally would. This particular sit will also give us all a chance to enter into silence and stillness in the midst of holiday bustle and the excitement and activity surrounding our impending move to a new space. Being that it will be our last long sit in our current space, it might even be a little sad and sweet!
