Teah Strozer is a Zen priest and dharma teacher in the Soto Zen tradition of Shunryu Suzuki Roshi. She has been practicing meditation since 1967 and has also studied under Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche and Dainin Katagiri Roshi. Teah lived at Tassajara Monastery for 11 years and was the head of practice at San Francisco Zen Center, where she now teaches primarily. Currently, she is also the Chaplain for the Bay School of San Francisco and leads retreat programs for teenagers.
Zen priest, dharma teacher, and poet, Zoketsu Norman Fischer, has spent almost 30 years at San Francisco Zen Center, having held many senior positions, including abbot and director. Norman currently heads the Everyday Zen Foundation and offers teaching to many sanghas across the country. Among his numerous publications, Norman has written nine volumes of poetry as well as Opening to You: A Zen-inspired Translation of the Psalms and Taking our Places: The Buddhist Path to Truly Growing Up, which is based on his work mentoring young people
Zen priest and dharma teacher, Surei Darlene Cohen, has been practicing at the San Francisco Zen Center since 1970. After many years as a committed lay practitioner, she was ordained in 1999 and was transmitted as a dharma teacher soon after. She is currently the head teacher at Russian River Zendo. She is the author of Arthritis: Stop Suffering, Start Moving; Finding a Joyful Life in the Heart of Pain; The One Who is Not Busy; and Turning Suffering Inside Out.
Zen Buddhist Priest and dharma teacher, Dairyu Michael Wenger, has practiced at San Francisco Zen Center and Tassajara Monastery for thirty years and is currently Dean of Buddhist Studies. He is the author of Thirty-three Fingers: A Collection of Modern American Koans, co-editor of Branching Streams Flow in the Darkness, and editor of Wind Bell: Teachings from San Francisco Zen Center.
Daigaku Rummé, Zen priest and dharma teacher, was ordained as a Soto monk by Harada Sekkei Roshi in 1978. For more than 27 years, he practiced under Harada Roshi at Hosshinji Monastery in Fukui, Japan. Since March 2003, he has been on the staff of the Soto Zen Buddhism International Center, located in San Francisco. He resides at the San Francisco Zen Center and is the translator of The Essence of Zen, by Harada Roshi.
Seirin Barbara Kohn has been dharma teacher and head priest of Austin Zen Center since 2000. She spent 15 years at San Francisco Zen Center where she was the director and 5 years at Tassajara monastery. Barbara was ordained as a priest by Tenshin Reb Anderson Roshi and received dharma transmission from Zenkei Blanche Hartman Roshi. Her interests lie with making practice accessable to a wide group of people while maintaining a strong link to the traditions for which she is profoundly grateful.
