The amount of work the JMP participants put into playing together since last summer was stunningly clear last Friday night. The entire line up of standards were gorgeously played. The elegance and attention throughout the two-person improvisations still linger in the memory and the heart-thumping blast out of the final Coltrane piece was a thrilling finale to a successful year of playing.

A deep bow to the students who navigated many challenges and very busy school schedules to keep their commitments to one another and accomplish a remarkable group and performance. A deep bow to jazz bassist, composer, educator and sangha member, Adam Bernstein, for his unwavering effort and commitment to JMP students and to bringing mindfulness and meditation to the world through music. Bravo!

We are all looking forward to next year!

Many expressed amazement, joy, gratitude and exhaustion after an incredible effort to bring this new place of practice into the world. Seeing us all together today sitting, chanting, bowing and enjoying food, music, art and one another was moving for many. Another deep bow to our loving, hard-working and supportive sangha (seen here enjoying music) for a job incredibly well done. Your effort is truly inspiring. May our practice flourish and our hearts together open wide to the world. Beautiful everybody! We did it!
