Brooklyn Zen Center

The beginner's mind is the mind of compassion. When our mind is compassionate,
it is boundless. -Shunryu Suzuki Roshi

Welcome to the Brooklyn Zen Center and Koshin-ji (Boundless Mind Temple). We are a Soto Zen Buddhist community in the lineage of Shunryu Suzuki and affiliated with the San Francisco Zen Center. The meditation style we practice is called shikantaza or "just sitting", a simple meditation practice taught by and passed down from our 13th century ancestor, Eihei Dogen. Please feel encouraged to come join us for morning and evening meditation. We would be very happy to have you sit zazen with us.
