The New Year’s Eve Celebration is back in person at Brooklyn Zen Center! After holding this celebration online for the past two years, we are very happy to bring back this cherished BZC tradition to our temple in Brooklyn. This will be BZC‘s 16th annual New Year’s Eve Celebration and Sit.

The festivities will start at 9pm with a period of temple cleaning (the doors will open at 8:45). Starting at 10:30, we’ll sit three periods of zazen, the third of which will go until just past midnight. During the last period, we’ll sound 108 bells that will ring in the New Year. Following the sit, we’ll celebrate with a hot drink and the ritual “burning of our hindrances” for the coming year.

We ask that all participants be fully vaccinated and boosted. Please see the BZC Covid Protocol for additional information. We are currently at risk level YELLOW and masks are required indoors at all times.

Please consider your financial position in the context of dana and purchase tickets at the level appropriate for you so that we can ensure accessibility to the entire sangha.

Please note that by our cancellation policy, we do not offer refunds for this event.

No walk-ins will be allowed.
