In-Person and Online Ordination Talk, Oct 8


Event Details


Location: Christ Church Cobble Hill, located at 326 Clinton Street, Brooklyn (enter by the Clinton Street driveway gate, pass the scaffolding, and through the double doors)

Join us for our in-person Saturday morning program at Boundless Mind Temple in Brooklyn, which will include an Ordination Talk by Kaishin Victory Matsui, as well as zazen instruction. Kaishin will be ordained on October 16 and this talk is a precious occasion for them to share with the sangha about their path and motivations to be take up practice in this way.

We ask that all participants be fully vaccinated and boosted. Masks will be required indoors at all times. Please see the BZC Covid Protocol for additional information. The COVID risk level will be confirmed closer to the date.

9:40am Zazen (sitting meditation)
10:10am Kinhin (walking meditation)

11:00am Ordination Talk
12:00am Service (ceremonial chanting, bowing and incense offering)
12:20am Soji (temple cleaning practice)
12:40pm Tea (informal tea time)

About Kaishin Victory Matsui

 

 

Kaishin Victory Matsui is currently the Tenzo (head of the kitchen) at Ancestral Heart Zen Temple, where they have lived for the past three years. They were born in Tokyo and raised in Brooklyn, and have been practicing at Brooklyn Zen Center since 2015.

 

 

 

 


Access Notes: We are in an historical building which is not wheelchair accessible. There are two flights of stairs leading to the center, located on the second floor. To reach the center, please enter by the Clinton Street driveway gate, pass the scaffolding, and through the double doors. There are two flights of stairs leading to the center, located on the second floor.

The closest subway is stop is Bergen Street on the F line.
