The New York Guitar Circle presents music which grows from cooperation within the group, and up to 30 years’ experience with Guitar Craft and Guitar Circles, instructional programs founded by guitarist Robert Fripp (King Crimson, Brian Eno, David Bowie, etc.). Guitarists and non-guitarists from different backgrounds, different countries, and all levels of playing ability and experience, meet weekly for rehearsals, and from a combination of concentrated effort along with the joy of creation and improvisation, the voice of the group emerges from the relationship among the musicians.

Over the years, our work has developed many forms, some newly composed, some improvised, some as arrangements of previously composed pieces from many places and times, some simply presented as an instruction. Our work requires and encourages personal and group development; of attention, relaxation and sensitivity.
