Tenshin Reb Anderson traveled to Brooklyn in June to lead a five-day sesshin (formal Zen retreat) at Boundless Mind Temple. From June 5th to the 9th, Reb Anderson guided almost 60 participants through periods of zazen (seated meditation) and kinhin (walking meditation), and offered dharma talks and dokusan (private practice discussion between teacher and student).
Tenshin Reb Anderson was ordained as a priest by Suzuki Roshi in 1970 and served as abbot of San Francisco Zen Center from 1986 to 1995. He has been a longtime supporter of BZC and this was his eighth retreat with our sangha.
