Description

Stronger Together: Interfaith Collaborations in Spiritual Care in Response to Climate Crisis

For the fourth and final meeting of this series, Kaira Jewel Lingo (Dharma teacher and co-leader of the Buddhist Eco-Chaplaincy program) and Adam Bucko (author and co-founder of the Reciprocity Foundation) will be in conversation with Rev. Chelsea MacMillan of Greenfaith NYC about how Buddhist Eco-chaplaincy and efforts to respond to climate crisis meet up and interact in the wider community with interfaith coalitions and actions. What do Buddhist spiritual care providers bring to the mix? And what do we learn from one another working across faith traditions in our shared urgency and love for the planet and the impacts of climate crisis on our communities?

This is the final part of a four-part online series created in collaboration with BECA (Buddhist Eco-Chaplaincy Association). In this series we explore Buddhist eco-chaplaincy with panelists offering different perspectives on ecological grief, spiritual care, and real-world application. Across four sessions, participants will gain insight into its foundations, intersectional relevance, and interfaith possibilities while experiencing the compassionate outlook this emerging field offers.

Past events in the series:

Panel 1: What is Buddhist Eco-Chaplaincy: Responding to Eco-Crisis from the Cushion to the Earth

Panel 2: The Dharma of Upheaval: What does Buddhist Eco Chaplaincy Look Like in the World?

Panel 3: Spiritual Care for the Poly-Crisis: Intersection of the environmental crisis with systems of racial, gender, and economic exploitation
