Our annual New Year’s Eve sit returns to Boundless Mind Temple, our Brooklyn location. This is a meaningful alternative to traditional New Year’s celebrations—no crowds, no alcohol, just presence, community, and intentional ritual to welcome the new year.

The Evening:

Doors open at 8:45 PM.

9:00 PM — Soji (communal temple cleaning as meditation practice)

10:30 PM — Three periods of zazen (seated Zen meditation). The third period will continue until just past midnight.

Midnight — During the final meditation period, we’ll sound 108 bells to ring in the New Year.

After midnight — We’ll celebrate with treats and the ritual “burning of our hindrances” for the coming year.

What to Bring: Meditation cushions are provided. Wear comfortable clothing suitable for sitting meditation. No special equipment or experience needed.

Registration: Please register (below) by December 31. Pricing requests are due December 24 (see Equitable Pricing below).
