How can we become more comfortable speaking up and listening when tensions arise? Grounded in our dharma practice, we’ll gather in one circle to practice sharing everyday experiences, reflecting back what we hear, and checking our understanding with one another. Sharing is voluntary, listening is participation, and there’s nothing you need to prepare or bring.
This session is offered by the Hearing, Ethics, and Reconciliation Council (HEAR), a new council that supports the sangha in meeting conflict and ethical concerns with care, respect, and accountability. It will take place in-person at Boundless Mind Temple.
The Hearing, Ethics, and Reconciliation Council (HEAR) supports Brooklyn Zen Center’s sangha in meeting conflict and ethical concerns with care, respect, and accountability. Council members offer compassionate listening, reflection, and guidance, and help people find appropriate support for addressing difficulties. Through shared learning and practice, HEAR also supports the sangha in developing the skills to speak honestly, listen deeply, and work toward repair.
Boundless Mind Temple is located in the Parish House of Christ Church Cobble Hill, next to 326 Clinton Street. Enter the driveway on Clinton, go past the scaffolding, and through the double doors.
