Join us for our in-person Saturday morning program at Boundless Mind Temple in Brooklyn, which will include meditation instruction, zazen (seated meditation), kinhin (walking meditation), service, and a dharma talk by guest teacher, Rev. Mira Sawlani at 11:20 AM ET. Childcare will be provided from 9–11:15 AM.

The dharma talk will also be live-streamed. For security reasons, we do not post zoom links publicly. Please sign up to “This Week at BZC” to receive the log in information.

09:25 AM — Han (wooden board calling people to meditation)
09:40 AM — Zazen (seated meditation)
10:10 AM— Kinhin (walking meditation)
10:20 AM — Zazen
10:50 AM — Service (ceremonial chanting, bowing and incense offering)
11:20 AM — Dharma talk with Rev. Mira Sawlani
12:20 PM — Soji (temple cleaning practice)
12:40 PM — Tea (informal tea time)

You are welcome to attend all or part of the program.

Instructor
Rev. Mira Sawlani (she/her) is a pastor, educator, and public theologian whose ministry is shaped by her Philippine and Indian heritage, queer identity, and decolonized approach to justice. Born in Hong Kong and raised across continents, she brings a global lens to her work in multicultural, interfaith, and LGBTQIA+ communities. She holds a Master of Divinity in Public Theology from Wesley Theological Seminary and has served in diverse ministry settings, including Peace Fellowship Church DC, Resurrection City (a Queer and Black-led church plant), Middle Collegiate Church, and Forefront Church NYC. Currently, as Minister of Justice, Advocacy & Change at The Riverside Church, Rev. Mira organizes alongside movements like the GreenFaith and the Faith and Justice Network, advancing racial, economic, and climate justice. A mother of three, she is passionately committed to building liberative faith spaces where Queer, Black, Brown, and immigrant bodies are centered in the work of communal healing and collective liberation.
Childcare

Offered by volunteer sangha members on select Saturday mornings, 9–11:15 AM. Children are cared for in the “tree room” near the zendo and/or courtyard (weather permitting). At 11:15, they may join guardians for the dharma talk.

Availability: Check our event schedule or subscribe to This Week at BZC” for dates as we build our volunteer team.

What to bring: Diapers, wipes, snacks, and anything else your child may need.

Registration: Drop-ins welcome, but please complete this form in advance so we can plan accordingly.

 


Location Details

Boundless Mind Temple is located in the Parish House of Christ Church Cobble Hill, next to 326 Clinton Street. Enter the driveway on Clinton, go past the scaffolding, and through the double doors. There are two flights of stairs leading to the center, located on the second floor. The closest subway stop is the F/G at Bergen Street.
