9:00 AM - 12:45 PM
Shikantaza meaning “just sitting” is a core meditation practice in our tradition of Soto Zen Buddhism. It is sitting with a broad open awareness, not managing or filtering what arises, but rather allowing everything to be just as it is. Simply allowing whatever is there to be there, we find our true nature. We find ourselves as Buddha.
“Moment after moment you will find your own way when you just sit, when you are simply you yourself” – Shunryu Suzuki
So, our Shikantaza Saturday will be a peer-led practice with more periods of zazen–simply sitting with nothing extra, no dharma talk, no service. Sitting and walking in community–just being ourselves.
