It is a tradition at Brooklyn Zen Center to offer dana to our teachers, both as an expression of gratitude and as a manifestation of our fundamental interconnectedness. Dana, or generosity, is the first of the six perfections of bodhisattva practice. This selfless and spontaneous giving is the essential activity of truly relating to life, allowing us to open our hearts and foster empathy and kindness for all beings.
Please consider what the teachers offer, what they make possible for our lives, and how we can meet their teachings with generosity. Thank you.
