Thank you, Anna! Honoring a year of vision, care, and devotion

August 5, 2026

Anna Sardar, our Programming Director, is leaving BZC after a year of dedicated work. Anna brought creative vision and deep commitment to our program offerings, most notably the One Day Sit with Maitriveer Nagarjuna (Santosh Raut) in the Summer and the B.R. Ambedkar and Navayāna Buddhism course — a six-week exploration of caste, liberation, and engaged practice launching this September with Dr. Santosh Raut, featuring guest teachers Cornel West, Rima Vesely-Flad, and William Edelglass. This course represents the kind of rigorous, timely teaching Anna championed.

Beyond her programming work, Anna took on an enormous additional responsibility this year in caring for the transition out of Ancestral Heart. She created a thorough photo inventory of every item in the house, organized the move from Millerton to Brooklyn, coordinated the estate sale, and tended to the ongoing maintenance of the property — from hiring exterminators to caring for the grounds. It was unglamorous work, and she did it with care and devotion.

While her grant-dependent position has come to an end, her impact on BZC’s programming will continue to unfold. We are grateful for everything she gave to this community and hold her with love as she continues on her path.
